Content

Learning to understand the literary context of a passage of scripture immerses us in the words of the Bible, looking at the authors, audiences, ideas, themes and imperatives that it has for us.

Introduction

In Session 2, Ethan talks about practical steps to take in assessing literary context or the content of the Bible. We discuss the importance of drawing meaning out of a text rather than reading meaning into it. We also discuss four questions to consider when looking at the literary context, which sets us up for Session 3.
